How to turn leftover paska into French toast

Easter is a special celebration in Georgia and sometimes it lasts for several days and even weeks. Consequently almost every family has leftovers from Georgian Easter sweet bread named paska that resembles Italian panettone. Here we offer the housewives who do not know what to do with their old leftovers from paska a perfect solution and present amazing recipe by of how to turn old paska or panettone into a delicious French toast.


1 small paska or panettone
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
100g block dark chocolate
Butter or oil to fry
Strawberries and icing or powdered sugar to serve

Step 1 - Cut paska/panettone into slices. Whisk the egg and milk in a shallow bowl. Place some of the chocolate in the centre of two pieces of paska/panettone to make a chocolate sandwich and dip into the egg mixture (if the panettone is very dry or stale, you can dip it for longer).
Step 2 - Heat a frypan onto medium to high heat and add some butter. Fry the paska/panettone sandwiches on both sides. Serve with strawberries and dust with icing or powdered sugar.
