Baked quince with honey – Georgian dessert

Fruits occupy special place in Georgian cuisine, for the country and its lands are notable for the big variety of natural and delicious products. Here we present to you an extremely easy and healthy recipe of Georgian dessert prepared with quince, honey and nuts.

Ingredients:

5 quinces
120 grams of walnuts
150 grams of honey
100 grams of raisins
50 grams of dried cherry
100 grams of butter
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
½ teaspoons of cinnamon/vanilla to taste

Preparation:

Cut quinces into halves and remove seeds. Cut out a small hole in each of them and place 10 grams of butter in each hole. Meanwhile chop or grind nuts and mix together with raisins, cherry and honey. Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of vanilla powder and mix up well. Fill each quince with the mixture. Place the quinces on a pan coated with butter and pour a cup of water inside. Bake quinces in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 40 minutes until lightly browned. Serve the dessert warm. It can be consumed plainly on its own or with vanilla ice cream on its side.
