Sulguni cheese cookies – Delicious snack

Those who are not fond of sweets and prefer savory snacks, we offer delicious alternative - cookies with sulguni (Georgian cheese). Sulguni cookies might sound little bit strange, yet they are extremely delicious and crispy. They will serve as a perfect snack or addition to beer.


One glass of flour
250 g of sulguni cheese
100 g cottage cheese
150 g butter
One egg
One tablespoon of Baking powder
0.5 teaspoon salt
Spices — One teaspoon (paprika, garlic powder)

Beat egg with salt. Add cottage cheese, soft butter and mix well. Add grated cheese to the mixture , sift flour, add baking powder, spices and blend everything well. Besides paprika and dried garlic, you can also add other spices such as dried coriander or saffron to the dough to your taste. Knead dough well until its smooth and elastic, cover with plastic wrap and leave in fridge for at least 30 minutes. Roll out dough, cut out cookies and bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes. Don’t over-bake cookies; they should be tender and crispy. The snack goes well with beer and salads. You can also prepare canapés from it by placing spinach dip with walnuts (pkhali), beetroot salad or even smoked fish on cookies.
