Meskheti filled Pastry

Meskheti is the south-west region of Georgia. Meskheti people cook delicious pastry. The Georgian Journal will guide you as to how to cook Meskheti filled pastry at home.

You will need the following ingredients to get started:

Sugar – 400 g.
Flour – 1 kg and 400 g.
Butter – 200g.
Salt
Baking soda
Clove, vanilla and cinnamon

Preparation:

Mix 400g. flour, soda and salt together to make a dough gradually adding water to the mixture water. Keep the dough on
one side for an hour. Then cut the dough and the butter into three equal parts. Roll the dough on a floured surface and place the butter on one side. Make two layers in this way, roll them three times in a circular shape and place the butter on top of it. Keep the dough shapes in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile prepare the content: put the flour into a saucepan pan until it gets a brown look. Add the butter to the flour and keep them on the heat for several minutes. Then add the sugar and again, keep the mixture on the heat for a little while. Finally, pour the flavours into the mixture to taste.

Get the dough from the fridge and cut it into three pieces. Flatten them and allocate the content equally between the three pieces and make round pastries of 1cm Place the filled pastries in an oven on 180 ° until it is baked. The preparation will take about 150 minutes.
