Persimmons surviving winter in Bagdati, Georgia
22 February, 2016
Baghdati is a beautiful town in historic Imereti region of western Georgia. The town is located at the edge of the Ajameti forest on the left bank of the Khanistskali River, about 170 kilometres northwest of Tbilisi. The town’s name shares the same origins as the name of the capital of Iraq, Baghdad: Bag "god" and dāti "given", which can be translated as "God-given" or "God's gift" in old Persian. This lovely photo named Survived persimmons in Bagdati depicts a typical West Georgian style house in winter by photographer Badri Vadachkoria.
