Mesmerizing sunset in fledgling beach town of Anaklia
07 September, 2016
Anaklia is a village and seaside resort in western Georgia. It is located in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, at the place where the Enguri River flows into the Black Sea, near the administrative border with Abkhazia.  Few years ago, it was an ordinary cozy village where cows strolled in the streets and nothing catchy happened, but time by time the area started to develop and new infrastructure appeared beside old wooden houses of the locals. It is noteworthy that recently it hosted Georgia’s major electronic music festival Gem Fest. "Anaklia is also the home of GEM Fest, a massive electronic music festival that attracts 25,000 people to the nascent beach resort each year. This event was established as a development scheme, as something that could provide the region with an additional economic spark", - Forbes reports. In the near future the port is planned to be built here, for Anaklia has the deepest coastline on Georgia’s Black Sea shore. This beautiful photo shot by photographer Roman Tolordava depicts Anaklia at the sunset.
