Mysterious and misty Mount Kazbegi in autumn
01 October, 2016
Have you ever wondered if there is such a place in Georgia, where you will feel like in a fairy tale? If yes, then here is the answer. Exactly 153 kilometers from the capital Tbilisi, there is a historic and magnificent place called Kazbegi and also known as Stepantsminda. It is a small historical town in Georgia’s Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. The Gergeti Trinity Church built in the 14th century on the top of the hill serves as the main symbol and cultural heritage of Kazbegi. Every year thousands of locals and tourists pay a visit to this glorious site, moreover many Georgian and foreign couples tie the knots in this old and magnificent church that offers heavenly view of the beautiful green valleys and large mountains on all sides. The pace is picturesque at all seasons, so that it is almost impossible to say when Kazebgi looks at its best. Yet, autumn makes this place even more special and golden color adds mysterious note to the landscape. Although the area is clad in crimson suit in this picture, Kazbegi Mount remains the same and still wears its white hat in his full glory. Often the mountain is compared to an old man’s face with a white beard since Kazbegi is covered in snow all year around.
