Japanese Garden opens in Tbilisi

Japanese garden has officially opened in Tbilisi Botanical Garden. Since October 22 marks the International Tree Planting Day, several trees were symbolically planted in the vicinity of the garden. The infrastructure works have completed recently, decorations and sculptures were installed as well as bridge was built over the artificial river. In addition, a special area was organized where guests can enjoy Japanese tea. What’s more, a special Japanese gate from Japan Torii Gate, that represents a significant attribute of a Japanese garden, was brought and erected in the garden. Moreover, 11-12 Sakura seedlings, considered the symbol of Japan and its culture, have been brought and  planted in the garden’s territory.

The opening ceremony of Japanese garden was attended by Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania as well as Japan’s Ambassador to Georgia Mr. Toshio Kaitani.
