Georgia’s highest alpine resort – Winter Bakhmaro
24 December, 2016
Bakhmaro is a unique resort in Georgia’s Guria region. Located at an altitude of 2,000m above sea level, the place is considered the highest alpine climatic resort in Georgia. Beside its heavenly landscape, beautiful pine forests, alpine meadows and amazing views, the area is also notable for its small and cute cottages that decorate its hills. Bakhmaro offers its visitors the mixture of sea and mountain air that is beneficial for people with respiratory problems. If properly developed, it can attract up to 40 000 tourists per season, which would contribute about 4 million GEL to the budget. The resort is equally attractive both in summer and in winter.
