03 July, 2017
Mount Ushba is a real jewel of Georgia’s remote Svaneti region. Distinguished for its unusual spire shaped two summits, it attracts and captivates tourists and mountain climbers. It is 6th highest mount in Georgia.  The south summit of Ushba is 4700 meters high, 10 meters higher than its north counterpart. Additionally, it is considered the most difficult ascent in the Caucasus by many climbers. The name of the mount has several meanings in Svan language, it translates as "terrible mountains" or "place of the Witches Sabbath."Ushba is the source of many climbing tales, histories and sad tragedies as well.
