Ivanishvili comments about moving Georgian border by Russia
31 May, 2013
Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili commented on a Kavkasia television channel program on incidents of the Russian armed forces personnel moving the de-facto border between Georgia and its breakaway region of South Ossetia closer inside the Georgian-controlled territory during the recent days. Ivanishvili said he treated the matter “with a more balanced approach” and thought there might have been a “misunderstanding” in this case, as well as a “provocation” from figures in Russian politics unhappy with
the “ongoing normalization” of relations between the two states.
The Prime Minister said he expected a clarification for the topic during the upcoming meeting of his envoy for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and Grigory Karasin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia.
