Georgia’s Justice Minister off for a maternity leave

Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani is on a maternity leave and for the next two months, her duties will be carried out by her First Deputy, Alexander Baramidze.

Baramidze was appointed as the Deputy Justice Minister in 2012 and in 2013 he was promoted as the First Deputy Minister. Besides, he is the Parliamentary Secretary of the Justice Ministry.

Alexander Baramidze has graduated from the Oriental Studies and Law de
partments of the Tbilisi State University. Later he took part in trainings at the American and International Justice Center (Plano, Texas) as well as at the National Institute of Lawyers (Louisville, Colorado). Before coming to the Ministry of Justice, he was working as a lawyer.

Tea Tsulukiani was appointed the Minister of Justice after the October 1, 2012 elections and began to implement her duties on October 25.

She and her husband Nugzar Kakulia are expecting their first child.
