US Ambassador does not recognize borders mentioned by de-facto president of occupied Tskhinvali Region

"We do not recognize the borders mentioned by Mr. Bibilov, - the United States Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly said in response to question about the de facto president Anatoly Bibilov’s statement.

According to the US Ambassador, creating artificial barriers among people is an unlawful act.

"We do not recognize the borders mentioned by Mr. Bibilov. This is not an internationally recognized border. Consequently, creating artificial barriers among people is an illegitimate and unlawful act. This is a step in
the wrong direction," the US Ambassador to Georgia said.

To ensure the security of the republic, it is necessary to fully equip the state border with Georgia, including from the engineering point of view, - Anatoly Biblov, the de-facto leader of the occupied region of Tskhinvali, said at the briefing yesterday when he summed up his "visit" to Moscow.
