Wildfire in Khashuri, Tseda village

Fire broke out yesterday in Khashuri, Tseda village, in the forest. Emergency servicemen are working on the site, but due to wind and relief they cannot extinguish fire yet.

10 hectares of land are already burnt. Special technic and firefighters are mobilized – 220 firefighters and 12 fire engines work on the site.

Ministry of Internal Affairs has started investigation over the issue.

Giorgi Khojevanishvili, governor of the Shida Kartli region, commented that there is
no danger the fire to spread in the settled areas.

The emergency headquarters coordinated by the Shida Kartli governor and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had been working all night long.
