Salome Zourabichvili meeting with French President and First Lady

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili is meeting with French President Emanuel Macron. After the meeting, which is underway in the Élysée Palace, two presidents will hold a joint press conference.

The President of Georgia started her working visit to the Republic of France on the 17th of February. The delegation of the President of Georgia includes Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Davit Zalkaliani, Temporary Attorney of Georgia in the Republic of France Teona Giuashvili, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the
President of Georgia Natia Sulava.

During the high-level meetings, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has visited France's first lady Brigitte Macron along with her children at Élysée Palace.

Salome Zourabichvili also delivered a public lecture at Sciences Po University in Paris.

"47 years have passed since I studied here. Also, I have been teaching at Sciences Po for 9 years; therefore, this place is a part of my life. This is a very emotional day for as I returned here and addressed the audience, as the President of Georgia.

In my address, I tried to tell the students about my hope for Georgia. We are all aware of the challenges and problems we face, but there is hope and a way forward. I wanted to highlight exactly this way forward.

I am glad to see Georgian students, Georgian young women, future presidents at this university," President Zourabichvili said after delivering a public lecture at the University.

Besides, she met with Georgian students and diaspora representatives to discuss importance and means of their involvement in the current processes of the country.

"In summer we intend to hire an intern from Diaspora, who will help us to raise various initiatives here and introduce new ideas to us. There are many people who are very successful in different directions. We need to know where are our compatriots, who actively work in various fields, doctors, engineers. Some of them arrive and offer projects, all this is necessary, " the President of Georgia said at the meeting with Georgian Diaspora.

The President has visited the Leuville cemetery as well and paid tribute to the memorial of compatriots that died in emigration, the chairman of the first Democratic Republic of Georgia and her parents.
