29 year old Irakli Kvaratskhelia committed suicide on March 12th after he had been detained by de-facto Abkhazian authorities. All the embassies of Georgia have received relevant instruction to inform all our partner countries about this case, - Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani told journalists when commenting on the death of a Georgian citizen detained by the de facto regime.

According to him, Georgia uses all mechanisms to establish objective circumstances.

"We informed the international community about this case. We
had a conversation with the EU Special Representative, as well as the UN, OSCE, Geneva co-chairs. We are in constant communication with the EU monitoring mission. Every Embassy of Georgia has received relevant instruction to inform all our partner countries about the case and naturally all additional tools will be used to ensure that the international community is accurately informed about this outrageous fact. In addition, I will communicate with representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Tbilisi", - Davit Zalkaliani stated.

As for the reports that the Georgian citizen was beaten, the Foreign Minister said he had no information about it.

Irakli Kvaratskhelia was reportedly rendered medical assistance on March 11 - Rezo Kobalia, a representative of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, said.

"I am trying to verify the information. According to the latest reports, a doctor was brought to the Nabakevi military base from Tagiloni. Irakli Kvaratskhelia was in poor condition. They do not provide other details," Rezo Kobalia said.

According to him, Irakli Kvaratskhelia was supposedly detained at the Nabakevi-Tagiloni border.
