16 July, 2019
Azeri media has released information about the ambassador of Georgia being called at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. According to the local media, Ambassador of Georgia Zurab Pataridze was asked to share explanation behind the incident that took place on the territory of Davit Gareji monastery complex on July 14. Namely "on the subject of a violation of the border, attacking on and insulting border guards".

The agency Turan also points out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Azerbaijan requests from Georgia to start the case investigation and to take appropriate measures and report the results to Baku's authorities.

We say it with regret that such actions are completely unacceptable in the framework of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
