Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has resigned
Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has resigned. Bakhtadze released the relevant statement on the social network. “The purpose and main mandate of my nomination for the post of Prime Minister of Georgia in 2018 was to create and implement a strategic development framework for the country, which would ensure the achievement of our state goals in the coming years and would serve as the guide for the country's development.

The strategic development framework has been created and implemented and therefore I decided
to resign because I believe that I have fulfilled my mission at this stage,” reads Bakhtadze’s statement.

According to him, he will remain a member of the Georgian Dream team and a loyal soldier of the country.

"I want to thank my predecessors and wish success to the future Prime Minister," reads the statement.

Candidate for Prime Minister’s position to be nominated tomorrow

Leader of the parliamentary majority Gia Volski commented on the reports about the nomination of Giorgi Gakharia as the Prime Minister and Irakli Gharibashvili as the Interior Minister.

“These options are being considered, but I cannot really confirm them. We will make a statement on these issues tomorrow morning, at the political board meeting. Later the issue will be discussed at the majority meeting. Everything will be made clear tomorrow," Gia Volski said.
