German President arrives in Tbilisi, welcomes dialogue between Georgian, Russian FMs
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier welcomes resumption of dialogue between Georgia and Russia at the level of Foreign Ministers. Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in his interview with the Georgian newspaper Kviris Palitra that territorial integrity is a principle, which is crucial to maintenance of the peace in Europe.

Steinmeier also added that during his visit to Georgia he was going to visit the occupation line and get acquainted with the current situation. As for Georgia's readiness to join NATO, Frank-Walter Steinmeier underlined that
Germany supports decisions made by the alliance.

“We, the Germans, know about Georgia's hopes and expectations. Germany supports the decisions made in the alliance. Practical cooperation in foreign missions, including in Afghanistan, has also intensified in recent years. Germany's support for Georgia's territorial integrity is also invariable. During my visit, I will get familiarized with the situation at the administrative line of so-called South Ossetia. It is good that the channels of conversation between Georgia and Russia at the level of foreign ministers have again been restored. At the same time, Georgia represents itself independently and at the same time, it has the support of its partners. It is clear for Germany that the territorial integrity is a principle, which is crucial to maintenance of the peace in Europe” - said Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
