30 December, 2019
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia summed up 2019 in terms of Georgia's cooperation with NATO. As he said before the cabinet meeting, 2019 was an extremely important year for Georgia and NATO in terms of cooperation and partnership. According to him, 2019 was distinguished by an unprecedented amount of NATO-Georgia joint exercises.

"This year we’ve taken over the Presidency of the Council of Europe and we must take full advantage of this opportunity to share our achievements of democratization with our European
partners, our friends, our colleagues, as well as the challenges we have, and we must show the daily progress made by Georgian citizens and Georgian society.

We must also remember that 2019 brought a new dimension to the NATO-Georgia cooperation, that is Black Sea security, which gives Georgia the opportunity to be an important partner of NATO in another direction. It is our mission in the Black Sea to be a guarantor of security together with our international partners.

Of course, we should also stress that we have never had such a deep and comprehensive partnership with our main strategic partner, which we have today and which includes the most important dimensions, such as security cooperation with the United States, progress that we have in economy, and of course, in the direction of democratization.

Dear friends, it is most important for us to daily show progress to our citizens and partners in terms of country's institutions and democratization - the progress that is visible and enjoyed by each of our citizens," Giorgi Gakharia said.
