Congressmen's comments after meeting with Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze
Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, who is visiting the United States, holds meetings with Congressmen. As the Parliament’s Press Office said, Speaker Talakvadze held meeting with Congressman Adam Kinzinger and the sides discussed the issues of democracy and security and focused on further deepening of Georgia-US partnership.

“We have more communication with the government than with any other party. Our views should not be considered as an expression of anger but as a friendly gesture. We consider Georgia a very important
part of our future plans, and I hope that Georgia will have the same thing to say about the United States, " Congressman Adam Kinzinger said after the meeting with Georgian Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze.

The Congressman underlined an “inevitable necessity” to continue the dialogue, noting that it was a precondition for getting out of the current crisis.

„We have had quite fruitful conversations on all the issues that are in our common interest and I hope the decision-making process will be prompt and result-oriented. Our relationship is going well and I hope we will reach an agreement together. One thing is clear, everything must be done to preserve democracy that has long been in Georgia, ” Adam Kinzinger said.

Congressman Steve Chabot has also expressed his opinion saying that Relations between the two nations, the United States and Georgia, are important to both sides.

“I think we had a very good meeting. The relationship between the two nations - the US and Georgia - is important to both parties. We greatly appreciate Georgia's role and partnership.
For example in Afghanistan, where our troops are serving with Georgians. We appreciate it very much. We want to enhance and strengthen these relationships."- Steve Chabot said.
As for the American congressman's position on the Russian occupation, Chabot said that the occupied territories of Georgia belong to Georgia and not to Russia.
