SURVEY – ‘WHICH EXPERT DO YOU TRUST MOST OF ALL?’

‘Independent Experts’ Club’ is among the top six

In the survey carried out on several websites of ‘MedeaPalitra’ people named the experts they trusted most of all. The survey conducted by ‘InterPressNews’ in which 4617 respondents participated, had particular response. The answers to the question – Which expert do you trust most of all? – were divided as follows:

Soso Tsiskarishvili – 24.5%

Lado Papava – 20%

Gia Khukhashvili – 12.8%

Irakli Sesiashvili – 7.9%

Ramaz Sakvarelidze – 7.4%

Kakha Katsitadze – 7.1%

Soso Tsintsadze – 6.7%

Giorgi

Margvelashvili – 5.4%

Alexandre Rondeli – 3.8%

Gia Nodia – 2.3%

Mikheil Tavkhelidze – 1.2%

Nika Chitadze – 0.9%

It’s noteworthy that members of ‘Independent Experts’ Club’ hit the top six positions.

To discuss the recent events and topical issues the ‘Kviris Palitra’ invited the experts participating in the survey to the ‘Popular Hall’:

Soso Tsiskarishvili: ‘After May 26 the rally participants are still being detained and the journalists implementing their professional duties became targets for the authorities. Everybody was shocked when six enterprises of ‘MedeaPalitra’ were sealed. The stir that followed the entering of Revenue Service to inspect ‘MediaPalitra’ was unexpected for the authorities because even the devastation of ‘Imedi’ didn’t have such an instant reaction. Up till now it is unknown what information was taken by Revenue Service officers from ‘MediaPalitra’, what documents are being taken in or out today, who is planning what in the meantime, who is going to do what to somebody and what conclusion will be written. Everything will depend on the activity of Georgian public to curb the processes that the powers may nurture against the prestigious mass media and groups of people’.

Gia Khukhashvili: ‘Revenue Service inspection is not a problem. The problem is simultaneous check up of several business entities that does not happen ‘at random’. It’s a systemic assault and to my mind, it’s not only a tax inspection.

Ramaz Sakvarelidze: ‘When based upon the principle of ‘random selection’ six entities of one media structure are inspected, it naturally gives rise to some doubt and it must be neutralized. Don’t let them view us as idiots.’

Nika Chitadze: ‘Starting of ‘MediaPalitra’ inspection by Revenue Service shortly after May 26 raises doubt’.

Irakli Sesiashvili: ‘I think increasing of pressure on people on the part of authorities is connected not with May 26 but with the 2012 elections. Today the authorities are making a survey. They lost their face and are trying to accomplish all evil deeds now and get ready for the elections. They are aware of their rating and want to remove all discomforts till the elections.

Gia Khukhashvili: ‘According to paragraph 314 any person can be sued on charges of cooperation with foreign organizations. I think this paragraph should be subjected to the Constitutional debates.’

Irakli Sesiashvili: ‘The photo reporters’ case seems completely unprepared. They had no facts or solid arguments but they used it to cover up the assault on the church. Since the people displayed protest and the photo reporters refused to make confession, the authorities faced a problem and attempted to obtain confession  of guilt at any cost.

Rumors have it that investigating authorities are offering the detained people tough 10-12 years of imprisonment or several years in comfortable VIP cells and then – liberation. Evidently, in this case they decided to save themselves. For this reason I don’t think they will change their testimonies during the court trials. But I’m sure people will take this adequately. Everybody knows that it’s a fabricated case’.
