Some yellow minibuses have gone on strike in Gldani and Temka districts, Tbilisi. Later they were joined by Varketili minibus drivers as well.
The drivers are demanding normal labour conditions and that individual entrepreneurs’ status be abolished.
Minibus drivers are not going to stop their strike till Monday. They will hold a protest rally in front of the Tbilisi City Council building at 17:00 today.
The drivers also demand that Akaki Jokhadze, the head of the Tbilisi Transport Service, and the leadership of the Tbilisi Minibus Company meet with them.
A session started at the Tbilisi City Council building at 17:00.
The drivers are going to set up an initiative group that will plan the future steps of the drivers. In addition, they plan to found a trade union.
