This is right out of the movies – Booth owner fighting off an armed robber in Tbilisi

On the 8th of May, a man armed with an automatic weapon, tried to break into a currency exchange booth located near Didube subway station in Tbilisi and rob it. The gunman attempted to overpower the booth owner. However, he put up a fight, which prompted the assailant to open fire, wounding the owner in his leg.

The attacker was quickly apprehended by the police. Video of the attack, captured by a surveillance camera, was uploaded by the owner’s son on
his Facebook page.
“I only want to say that I have always been proud of my father, and after this incident I will be ten times more proud of being the son of such a person,”- he wrote.
