Radisson Blue Hotels in Georgia win the “Oscar” of tourism
Everyone knows about the world-famous Academy Awards in the movie industry but did you know that same competition existed in world service and travel industries? World Travel Awards (WTA) that is one of the most prestigious awards in the travel industry is called the "Oscars" of travel sector. We are extremely glad to announce that two hotels in Georgia, Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel in Tbilisi and Radisson Blu Hotel in Batumi have been named among the leading hotels of Europe.
The first one has been given the award of “Georgia’s Leading Business Hotel” while the latter has received the award of “Georgia’s Leading Hotel”. World Travel Awards Gala Ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities within the travel and tourism industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries, and international print and broadcast media. Taking into consideration the rising competition in Georgia’s business and service sector, the success of Radisson Blu once again emphasizes that it is one of the leading hotels in the region, offering a high class service to its consumers.

World Travel Awards European Gala ceremony took place in Sardinia, Italy, where John Losasso, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel was personally granted this honorable award.

“I would like to thank each and every member of our team for making this hotel truly extraordinary! On behalf of the entire hotel, I would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the people who voted for us; we are deeply honoured to win this award,” said John Losasso at the ceremony.

Georgian Journal has managed to personally ask MR. John Losasso to share his opinion and feelings about the prestigious award and generally Georgia at the media meeting held in Radisson Blue Iveria in Tbilisi.

“Our main priority was to showcase Georgia that is why we entered the World Travel Awards. This competition gave us an opportunity to show ourselves as well promote Georgia and tell others what is so special about this country. Representatives of international hotels and travel agencies attended the event, so being present at this global occasion put Georgia in the spotlight again. I have to say that Georgia is a wonderful place for doing business. The people, culture and the country itself are amazing.

Around 300-400 hotels took part in the WTA worldwide. We have entered the competition of the leading hotels of Europe. This is one of the biggest awards any hotel can receive. The main thing about this contest is that our clients and guests have voted for us, correspondingly the contest was completely fact-based. The secret of Raddison Blu’s success lies in good service, good quality, and affordable prices.

I arrived in Georgia in the beginning of January this year and I fell in love with this country. People are so friendly; it is good to do business here. I have been to Tsinandali and Kazgebi and I was amazed. This is such a beautiful country.

As for the future plans concerning Georgia, one of my main projects at present is to focus on Italian restaurant with Georgian twist that soon will offer various delicious dishes to our consumers” noted John Losasso in the interview with Georgian Journal.
