Hotline launched for Georgian citizens in Brussels

Georgian diplomatic representation in the Kingdom of Belgium has launched a hotline for Georgian citizens following the explosions at the Brussels airport.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the hotline numbers are: +32 4777 000 34 and +32 470 2442 62.

The consul of Georgia in Belgium, Rusudan Didebulidze says at this moment, only one Georgian citizen is accounted for in Zaventem airport.

“The evacuation process is still underway at Zaventem airport. Unfortunately, we are still unable to receive any
kind of detailed information because all the phones in the airport are out of service. However, we know that one Georgian citizen was near the site of explosion, but she was not injured,” Ms. Didebulidze said and added, that the person she mentioned is Ketevan Kardava, a journalist of Georgian Public Broadcasting Company.

Two explosions have been reported in the departures area of Zaventem airport in Brussels, followed by reportedly three more explosions in the city metro stations.

Unconfirmed reports say 13 people are dead at the airport 10 at the metro stations, with dozens of injured.
