“Taxi driver opened the envelope and began to cry” – Heartwarming story in Tbilisi
Georgian Facebook user Zura Dzegvelishvili wrote about a touching incident that has recently occurred in Tbilisi:

“Tired and with fever that was reaching 38 degrees, plus very mad at irresponsible clients, I left the office. Normally I always walk home but that day I felt very bad and decided to catch a taxi. Standing on Queen Tamar Street, close to TBC bank, I saw a taxi stop near me and a nice-looking woman who was approximately 40-45 years old, got
off the car. I saw her go to the ATM and then decided to take the same taxi but the driver told me he was waiting for that woman.

Before I could catch another car, I saw the woman return to the taxi she had just got off and hand the driver an envelope. The driver was very confused. He opened the envelope, looked inside and suddenly began to cry. He quickly got off the car and ran to the direction where that woman went. He came back a few minutes later, heavily breathing and laughing but not being able to hold the tears. I was confused too. I asked him if he was okay and he told me that in that envelope there was a large sum of money. The driver’s name was Koba and it turned out that woman heard him speak on the phone with somebody. Koba was talking about his child who was very ill and needed surgical operation to be able to walk again. He had already sold his apartment and could not even take a credit from the bank. For the last several days he only slept 3 hours and was working the rest of the time to collect the necessary amount of money. The money in that envelope was enough to cover the expenses of the operation. He was trying to find that woman to thank her but could not find anywhere.

Koba drove me home, crying, laughing and trembling all the way He refused to take money from me, took away the Taxi sign from his car and went straight to the hospital.

Koba’s 5-year-old child will soon be able to walk again!

I felt I was no longer tired, even my fever disappeared and I am not mad at irresponsible clients either,” Dzegvelishvili writes.
