According to head of the coal company, the tragic accident that happened in Tkibuli mine was not caused by the violation of workplace safety standards.
“The violation of labor safety standards should be excluded. As a rule, it is impossible to prevent earthquake and rock burst that previously was also observed in Georgia in 1986. This was the second time that such natural disaster occurred. Small scale rock burst happen quite often, yet such large scale eruption is quite rare”, Head of Saknakhshiri, company owning Tkibuli mine elaborated.
