Tourist police officers to assist foreign visitors of Georgia from today

Infantry patrol police officers will start patrolling in Tbilisi as of today. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press office, Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia met the police infantry crews today, wishing them success in their future work.

At this stage, patrol policemen will patrol the streets and the districts of the capital, which are the areas of the entertainment infrastructure.

The main task of the new Patrol Police Division is
to ensure the security of the country's visitors and Georgian citizens on the above mentioned locations and to provide them with relevant police services.

According to the information released by the MIA press office, the infantry patrol police officers will be equipped with the modern police equipment including the video cameras of the newest generation.

The infantry patrol police officers will carry out patrols in pre-defined areas, including : Shardeni, Bambis Rigi, Kote Abkhazi Street, Tabidze Street, Vertskhli Streets, as well as on the European Square, Vakhtang Gorgasali Square, Saarbrücken Square, Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue and Abanotubani territory.
