Georgian twin designers who are based in London

Tamara and Natasha Surguladze were born in Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR, in 1978. In 1992, they went to school in Switzerland. Afterwards, they went to London in 1996 and studied fashion at Central St. Martins, graduating in 2000. On their graduation, Barneys New York (luxury specialty retailer) dedicated a wall to the twins’ amazing graduation collection.

In 2000, they established the br
and named after their childhood nickname “Tata-Naka”. Natasha is thought to focus on cut and construction, while Tamara is more interested in decorations. Their clothes are starred in the legendary series of “Sex in the City” and were worn by Carrie Bradshaw on the cover of the official book.

They participate in London fashion week every season. They have won “New Generation” award at London fashion week for several times. Tata-Naka collections are regularly being shot in main fashion publications from Vogue to i-D.

The designers think that their collections reflect their own personalities. Their aim is to turn their brand into a proper luxury fashion house and to open a free standing retails store for presenting the whole Tata-Naka concept.

Apart from clothes and cushions, they are offering their interior designs to clients. Tata-Naka is distinguished from other designers by bold prints, colorful and vintage style. They are considered one of the most successful designers from Georgia along with Demna Gvasalia.
