Journalist Tio Begoidze who’s an editor of the site Zooclup.ge has been living with her four legged friends for 6 years now and considers them as full members of her family.

“We live together!” They are part of my life and society. Their love and loyalty is limitless while humans seem to keep these hidden. That’s why a lot of people with animals are very open. During the evenings after returning home from work, all four of my dogs greet
me with so much joy that even when I’m having a bad day I instantly forget about it. This is a very big positive aspect of life. The animals and people are helping and strengthening each other.”

She adopted Basa – the oldest dog from an animal shelter. However, he was infected with demodecosis a disease caused by a parasite. Back then he was around 3-4 years old. Now he is the eldest member of her family.

Khatulika used to run around her yard when she was just a puppy. Initially she tried to give her away however, she ended up staying with her.

Totonika is also adopted from an animal shelter. He was such a tiny dog, and his fur had almost completely vanished due to fungi. The doctor says that he was born with it and without a proper meal the dog would keep on developing a fungi. She couldn’t bear to let that happen so she adopted him as well.

And lastly, the fourth dog Dadulina showed up in her yard with a broken toe. She took him to the hospital and had him undergo surgery in order to repair his toe.

As a dog lover she also loves taking care of neighborhood dogs.. When asked to give advice to those who do not like animals she replied with:

“For those who do not like animals, I would ask them to ,whether they like them or not. Know that they are spiritual beings so do not neglect them when they are in need of help – provide them with food, a cup of water. It doesn’t take much.”

“I believe that if each family adopts just one dog from the street there will be less animals in need"
