17 people have died from clinically confirmed flu virus in Georgia so far.
Around 800 people have been hospitalized from flu or flu-like deceases.
Minister of Health, Labor, and Social Affairs Davit Sergeenko says that they expect peak of flu virus in Georgia in February.
As he says, this is just a version and it is also possible to see quite opposite in February.
Meanwhile, Tbilisi citizens try to protect themselves from flu with medical veils. One can see people carrying them in public places and public transport.

“Difficulties caused by the flu virus last for about month and a half and are seasonal. This
started in the middle of December and the dynamic is decreasing. We think that in the middle of January situation will stabilize. We expect the peak of the flu virus in February. Situation is the same in Europe, dynamic there is increasing. Georgia underwent the same phase three weeks ago. That is why we suppose that when situation stabilizes in Georgia, flu may be spread in Georgia by the European visitors. But this is just a version and we may not face the peak at all” – says Davit Sergeenko.
