Dadari, a Georgian toy company with incredible social and ecological missions
16 March, 2019
There is nothing more heartwarming than finding a social and ecological mission-oriented organization. Dadari, a toy company based in Georgia has undertaken to change people's lives for the better. The social enterprise unites people of different abilities (some of them with special needs) in order to create ecologically clean items. Dadari was founded in 2018 by Merab Kuchukhidze. Georgian Journal offers its readers an interview with the CEO of Dadari Archil Gobejishvili.
1. How did the idea of
Dadari emerge?

The idea of establishing Dadari was initiated by Merab Kuchukhidze. He introduced me to his idea and we decided to make it happen together. We have set up an organization uniting people of different abilities. The social enterprise Dadari makes wooden toys and items. Our team consists of 10 employees, 4 of them with special needs. Their engagement contributes to the creation of Dadari’s refined and unique products.
2. What makes Dadari different from other enterprises?

Dadari is a social enterprise with a major focus on quality. Our product and its quality are internationally recognized. Dadari’s ecologically clean and high-quality toys and items have undergone a laboratory test in Germany and it has confirmed that they fully comply with the European standards. With the help of our business partners in Germany and the U.S, our products are now available in the leading countries of the world.

The key strength of Dadari is its united team. Each of us aspires to develop and enhance the company’s career prospects. We love what we do, the people we work with and children for whom we create the toys.
3. What is the role of the enterprise in the development of Georgia?

We have undertaken a mission to help our country in resolving certain social problems. Dadari re-trains those people who have lesser chances to be employed. This would enable them to discover new opportunities, be fully involved in social life and become competitive staff on the labor market. Our country lacks ecologically clean products and we try to make up for with our eco-friendly toys and items.

4. Where can Dadari's products be found?
Dadari’s toys and items in Georgia can be found and purchased in our social enterprise, at Tbilisi Sea Plaza, Hulaing. Besides, our products can be found on Facebook which offers a delivery service too. As for the European market, Dadari items can be purchased via or through an international online market GeorgiaWoodenToy.

5. What are Dadari’s future plans?

We make an effort to develop our organization and find new international partners. Currently, we are negotiating with the representatives of Estonia and Italy in order to realize our products in their countries. Meanwhile, we conduct negotiations with one of the largest companies on an international scale to begin the production of their commissioned item in Georgia.

We are working on the renovation of Dadari toys that will be suitable for the Georgian market.
Nowadays, 100% of the social enterprise's income is only from the sale of the product. At present, we do not have donor organizations or sponsors. As a result, we are not able to re-train more people. However, we will do everything to widen our organization and employ more people in the near future. We are trying to acquire new connections and partners as well as to get corporate orders to make items tailored to their needs for organizations.
