Former President and First lady join the rally on Rustaveli Avenue

Former President Giorgi Margvelashvili and First lady Maka Chichua joined the rally on Rustaveli Avenue. Maka Chichua addressed the protesters on the 24th of June. The former first lady said that it worries her a lot that she was not standing with them the night police used rubber bullets, water cannon and tear gas against demonstrators.
On the 25th of June, Giorgi Margvelashvili cheered the protesters up by saying that the people who oppose them are weak in their actions. According
to him, truth and the real power of the Georgian future are on their side.

“It’s painful that this history had to be written in blood,” said Giorgi Margvelashvili.

Giorgi Margvelashvili was elected as the President of Georgia on 27th of October, 2013 after serving as Vice Premier and the Minister of Education and Science. Leaving the presidency in 2018, Margvelashvili returned to the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) to deliver a course of lectures on politics.
