Balenciaga among ‘The Top 10 Collections of the Fall 2019 Season’
24 July, 2019
Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, Simone Rocha, Prada, Paco Rabanne, Rock Owens, Loewe, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, and Chanel are the top 10 collections of the fall 2019 season named by Vogue. The creative director of Balenciaga is the Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia.

Gvasalia was recently given the 5th place on the list of “super-duper incredibly important people” announced by GQ Magazine. He was named the accessories designer of 2018 for Balenciaga at the Royal Albert Hall, London by the British Fashion Council’s Fashion
Awards. Meanwhile, he is the head designer of Vetements.

Demna Gvasalia's outfits are worn by various celebrities such as Celine Dion, Kendall Jenner, Michelle Obama, Mikheil Saakashvili, former President of Georgia, Lil Wayne, etc.
“Here are one or two things that stood out: Demna Gvasalia’s retooling of Cristóbal Balenciaga monastic silhouettes as “incognito” high collars and hoods that obscured the wearer’s face from the side view—an extreme, intellectually witty extension of Gvasalia’s reputation as a maker of hoodies. The erasure of trainers, dad-like or otherwise, in favor of square-toed black leather shoes and new high boots for men. The young men carrying fistfuls of B-branded shopping bags. “It’s real,” said Gvasalia. “When I’m on the streets of Paris, that’s what I see.” —S.M.,” reads Vogue about Demna Gvasalia’s collection.
