Elizabeth Rood just reached the peak of Mount Kazbegi

Embassy Tbilisi, Georgia has recently uploaded a photo of Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Elizabeth Rood reaching the peak of Mount Kazbegi. At 5,047 meters above sea level, Mount Kazbegi (or Mkinvartsveri) is the third highest mountain in Georgia.

“Mission accomplished! CDA Elizabeth Rood just reached the peak of Mount Kazbegi. We want to thank everyone for their great suggestions on what to do next in Kazbegi. Keep them coming!” reads the embassy’s Facebook post.

Earlier the embassy had uploaded photos
of her climbing up the mountain. According to the embassy’s Facebook post, Elizabeth Rood welcomed all recommendations about what to see in Kazbegi.

Elizabeth Rood arrived at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, Georgia on July 2017 to serve as Deputy Chief of Mission. Prior to Tbilisi, she served as Political Counselor in Kabul, Afghanistan (2014-2016).
