66 Infected with COVID-19, 9 Recovered in Georgia

The number of infected with COVID-19 in Georgia jumped to 66. The information is posted on a special website created by the government at stopcov.ge.

The number of patients under quarantine is 3320 and 235 are under hospital supervision. Nine people are already recovered.

However, according to Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control, the peak period of coronavirus begins in the 6th,7th and 8th weeks. He said that we are now entering the pre-critical phase.

"Generally the peak
period starts in the 6th, 7th and 8th weeks. Three weeks have gone since February 26 when we reported the first case of coronavirus in Georgia. That is why I said that we are not entering a pre-critical phase, therefore all the measures taken to prevent the virus spread should be strengthened."- stated Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control.
