Georgian Basketball Team wins first match of European Championship

The Georgian National Basketball Team overcame the opposition of Poland 84:67 in the first match of the 2013 European Championship on September 4.
The first period of the match was won 20:14 by players coached by Igor Kokoshkov, with the first half score at 39:22. The Georgian team won the third period 16:15 with a single-point advantage and lost the fourth 29:30, claiming the overall victory in the match.
Viktor Sanikidze was the most valuable player with 23 points and
6 rebounds. Manuchar Markoishvili amassed 18 points, while Giorgi Shermadini collected 13 points and 9 rebounds to his credit.
