Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili celebrates his first top 10 victory defeating Tomas Berdych

Yesterday, on Vienna Open tennis tournament, the prize pool of which is 1.8 million Euros, Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili defeated Czech player Tomas Berdych,
who is ranked the 10th in the world (6:4; 6:7; 7:5) and went on to the next round. The match between Basilashvili and Berdych was in the first round of the tournament. Georgian player had to pass qualification stage to be able to play in the first round and as for Berdych, he was seeded as No.2.
match lasted for two hours. Basilashvili could have won in the second set, but Berdych managed to dominate in the tie-break. In the third set, Basilashvili was leading 4-1, but the Czech refused to buckle and made it 4-4.
In the end, Georgian player made it anyway and won the decisive set 7-5.
Basilashvili’s next opponent will be Russian Karen Khachanov (63).
