Georgian national basketball team defeats Israel at Eurobasket

The national basketball team of Georgia defeated Israel at the Eurobasket match in Tel-Aviv, Israel, on September 5th.

TEL AVIV (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Georgia remained in the running for the Final Phase of the FIBA EuroBasket 2017 by beating Israel 104-91 in Group B.

Tornike Shengelia was the star of Georgia's win, racking up 29 points.
Zaza Pachulia, a Georgian professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA),  added 19 points and 11
rebounds in picking up the win to improve to 2-2 in Group B in Tel Aviv. Georgia can still finish as high as second in the group but also fail to advance, though there is a scenario where Georgia would advance even with a loss against Italy.
Gal Mekel's 23 points, and a further 19 from Richard Howell were not enough as Israel were eliminated with a 1-3 record.

Pachulia's Georgia Defeats Casspi's Israel in Preliminary Round Game

Zaza Pachulia and Omri Casspi will be teammates for the upcoming NBA season, but on Tuesday, they were on opposite sides of a preliminary round EuroBasket game. Pachulia’s side eventually came out on top, as Georgia defeated Israel 104-91 in overtime.
Pachulia recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Casspi notched 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in defeat after tying the game in the final seconds of regulation. Georgia (2-2) will face Italy and Israel (1-3) will face Ukraine in their final preliminary round games on Wednesday.
