Georgian rugby team’s thrilling win over Belgium 47:0

Georgia’s national rugby team handed a defeat to Belgium with 47:0 at the Aia Arena, a stadium located in Kutaisi, the capital of Georgia’s Imereti Region, on February 2.
In total, Georgians scored 7 tries and gained bonus points. The Lelos (nickname of Georgian rugby team ) opened the score pretty soon, on the 9th minute, when Levan Cichalava scored the first try, what was followed by Beqa Tsiklauri’s successful conversion.

On the 55th minute Giorgi Pruidze scored a try. Unfortunately, Beqa Tsiklauri could not convers the ball this time. On the 67th minute Sandro Todua increased Georgia’s superiority up to 38 points, Tsiklauri scored a successful conversion again and the score became 40: 0.
Anzor Sichinava made a try-scoring debut on the 77th minute. Tsiklauri scored an exact conversion again.

As a reminder, the Lelos will face of Germany in the second match of Rugby Europe Championship on 17 February at 17:30 in Germany.

The team's nickname, The Lelos, comes from lelo burti, a traditional Georgian sport with strong similarities to rugby. Lelo has been adopted as the Georgian word for "try" (the highest-valued score in rugby). One standard cheer of Georgian rugby union fans is Lelo, Lelo, Sakartvelo (Try, Try, Georgia).
