SUMO Natsu Basho 2019: Tochinoshin wins all bouts so far

SUMO Natsu Basho kicked off on the 12th of May. The Georgian Sumo wrestler Levan Gorgadze, Tochinoshin has started the tournament by winning all the fourth bouts in a row. His rivals have been Maegashira Chiyotairyū, Maegashira Daieisho, Maegashira Okinoumi, and Sekiwake Tamawashi.

Currently, Levan Gorgadze holds the title of Sekiwake (the third highest rank). He lost the Ozeki title as a result of losing the 15th of bout Haru Basho (2019 Sumo Spring Basho) with Takakeisho. Tochinoshin collected 7 wins
out of 15 but he needed at least 8 wins to maintain the title. He gained the title in January 2018.

Levan Gorgodze will be able to regain the Ozeki title in case he has 10 wins out of 15 at the current tournament.

As for Juryo Division and the Georgian sumo wrestler Gagamaru (Teimuraz Jugheli), he won the 3 bouts against Daishōmaru, Chiyonoumi, and Kotoyūki and only lost to the second rival Kyokutaisei.
