 Poti Port Employees still on Strike

Poti port employees continue to strike. They demand improvement of the working conditions, salary increases and labor contracts.
As a correspondent of InterPressNews informs from Poti, the Poti port employees expect a written answer from the administration to their demands.
“The final agreement is still not reached. The salary issues remain a problem, though the port management promised that it would work on the issue of salaries and we don’t know what will come out of it. They may make

concessions. As for the sanitary and living concisions, an agreement has been reached on almost all the issues and the management will provide written information about this to the trade union of the trade”, head of the marine transport agency Mamuka Akhaladze said.
70% of Poti Port has been paralyzed for the 5th day. The general strike was declared by the employees on 1 November.

"This does not mean that we should forget the difference in our views or that we should agree with each other on everything. We have different positions on a range of issues, including crime, fight against corruption, economy and foreign policy," he said.
