29 September, 2015
The Ukrainian delegation led by president Petro Poroshenko walked out during Vladimir Putin's speech at the United Nations in New York on September 28, according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

Yuriy Sergeyev, head of Ukraine's Permanent Mission to the United Nations wrote on Twitter that the Ukrainian flag taken from the Battle for Ilovaisk in summer 2014 was unveiled on the balcony, just in front of the Kremlin strongman. The flag shows traces of bullets holes.

Yuriy Sergeyev wrote on Twitter:
"Our delegation has left the UN hall during comrade Putin's speech. The Ukrainian flag from Ilovaisk was unravelled in front of him, on the balcony. Let him (Putin) see it."

A Ukrainian parliamentary commission estimates that up to 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers may have died in the Battle of Ilovaisk.
