Lagos to Throw Out Illegitimate Traders near Obalende Bridge (R)
29 July, 2017
On July 24, the government of Lagos State ordered all people to take away their illegal buildings and shanties located around Obalende flyover. The deadline is two days.

Naij.com reports that the chairman Olayinka Egbeyemi issued such a decision. In particular, he commanded to bulldoze all illegitimate buildings and shanties if his order is not followed.

It is not a spontaneous decision. The chairmen also reminded that six months ago all people who either trade or live illegally under Obalende
Bridge were warned about that decision. However, the considerable part of them still hasn’t moved anywhere.

Near Obalende Bridge there are not only shanties but illegitimate mosques, churches, food vendors, and residences.
